Risk Management, Safety Management and Loss Control Topves 4.1. Implementation and improvement If you want a management system that will work for you, you will have to get other people involved in making the system such that it becomes "their" system - you need their "buy-in". To get that, there needs to be appropriate motivation for people to share in the process to develop and implement the MAA's that make up your management system at any point in time. To be part of the process to develop and implement the system is also motivation: to assure that the organization will only have known risks that are controlled at a specified level. The process to successfully develop and implement the MAA's must be led and enthusiastically endorsed by the company CEO and the management team. They must lead by action and example. The process must be clearly identified and a time path must be provided. People must be involved at various levels in the organization, managerial levels as well as operational levels and appropriate training must be provided at various stages of the process. The objective of the process is to develop (part of) a management system that will be implemented towards success. This page will lead you to that process. At first I developed the process and later I also made a rating system to help me and my clients determine if the process within their organization had major holes in it that were keeping them from getting to the success that they were looking for. My personal experience in using the process is that it helps as a guide in a complex situation working in or with an organization. This complexity is not so much because the process is difficult, but because there are people involved with all kind of different interests and - sometimes - hidden agenda's. The Rating system then helps to sit down with the client to more or less objectively look at what they have done and how.
THE principle of MANAGEMENT RESULTS"A manager tends to secure most effective results - through and with others - by performing the management work of planning, organizing, leading and controlling."
