Risk Management, Safety Management and Loss Control Topves
Loss Control - Societal Implications An article I wrote in 1978 and that was published in the "Journal of Safety Management" of the NSMS (National Safety Management Society). In the article, that has to be placed within the timeframe in which I wrote it, I was trying to relate the role of safety (and the safety manager function) to management autonomy. The basic message was: "either you regulate yourselves or someone will do it for you". That is true within a family, a neighborhood, a city etc. Of course within the context of my article, "someone" would be government. Loss Control - Societal Implications - a PDF document. THE principle of RESISTANCE TO CHANGE"The greater the departure of any planned change from the accepted ways of the past, the greater the potential resistance by the people involved.
