Risk Management, Safety Management and Loss Control Topves 16-step improvement process Also described under "Process". Description of the process that I used in consulting clients on their way to success. The underlying thought is that it is the client organization that makes its own success, not the consultant. The latter, however, has to be able to let the client know which steps to take. Likewise, the client organization has to agree to follow the 16-step guideline. That way the 16-step process becomes the "agreement" between the organization and the consultant in a situation where the client is looking for structural and lasting improvement. Also take a look at the PDF document "16 steps to improvement" and a slightly different version "16 steps and TQM" from a Total Quality management point of view. In addition to the process description, I also made a rating system. That helped me and my clients to put a number on the total process and show weak and strong areas. You can look at the rating tool via the "16-step process of improvement" link but it is also under "16 step rating" which describes the rating system. The 16 step process can act as a guide in an improvement exercise. You do not have to use all steps, can combine some and may choose to follow a slightly different sequence. Look at the PDF document "16 step evaluation and success" for some experience. THE principle of RESISTANCE TO CHANGE"The greater the departure of any planned change from the accepted ways of the past, the greater the potential resistance by the people involved.
